Student Scholarship Award

The South Dakota Section AIPG promotes student participation in AIPG and provides a $1,000 competitive biannual scholarship to an eligible undergraduate student attending an accredited four-year university in South Dakota. The recipient must have declared a major in earth sciences, physical science, or the geosciences.


Cassidy Ewing

Zoe Dodd

Zoe Dodd, South Dakota School of Mines & Technology (SDSM&T) undergraduate student, won a $1,500 AIPG National Student Scholarship, pictured here receiving her award certificate from Dr. Kurt Katzenstein of South Dakota Mines’ Geology and Geological Engineering Department in February 2025. Ms. Dodd also received a $500 second place award for AIPG South Dakota Section’s biannual Student Scholarship competition.
